Piano Lessons

Elena Hall’s teaching philosophy is based on the traditions of the Russian classical
piano school: to build strong technique, to develop musicality, to improve sight reading
skills, and to give the student good knowledge in theory.
Piano Lesson Format:
Elena’s piano lessons are usually 30 minutes for beginning students, 45 minutes for intermediate students, and 60 minutes for advanced students. Along with the piano lessons, recommended practice time is 20 minutes daily for beginning students, 45 minutes for intermediate students, and 60 minutes or more for advanced students.  The best instruction still requires consistent practice to be effective.New photo 042
Most parents wonder about the quality of instrument required when students first begin piano lessons. There is always a fear of investing in an instrument that will later be unused. Ironically, a good quality acoustic piano does make a significant difference in a student’s performance and motivation to continue. Not only does it sound more beautiful, it responds better to the students touch.  It can also be a signal to the student that the parents are committed to helping the student become proficient at playing piano. Yes, behind every champion is an adult who was not afraid to lovingly teach good mental discipline and mentor the student to practice consistently. Champions are not self-made.  There is always a supportive team behind them.
